Two-factor authentication allows you to add an extra layer of security to your workspace. Please note that to use this feature you will need a smartphone and a relevant authenticator application installed on your smartphone, such as Google authenticator.


What is two-factor authentication?


Two-factor authentication is an extra layer of security used to make sure that people trying to gain access to an online account are who they say they are. First, a user will enter their username and a password. Then, instead of immediately gaining access, they will be required to provide another piece of information.


Switching on two-factor authentication


To switch on two-factor authentication go to the Settings > General settings > Extras > Toggle Two Factor Authentication to On



Switching off two-factor authentication


You can switch off two-factor authentication by going to Settings > General settings > Extras > Toggle Two Factor Authentication to Off



Different types of policies


Once you enable two-factor authentication you will be able to choose between the two options: mandatory and optional. 



Mandatory - once enabled, you will be prompted to complete the setup for two-factor authentication before proceeding.


Senta will take you to the Your profile section, where you will be asked to confirm your password and begin pairing. Please note - you will NOT be able to leave this screen until you complete the pairing. 



To complete this step, you will need your smartphone and a relevant two-factor authentication app (for example Google Authenticator).


Use the authenticatior application on your smartphone to scan the QR code, and enter the code displayed on your smartphone screen in to the Code field in Senta. Once that's done, click Pair device button to begin pairing. 



Once pairing has been completed, you should see that two-factor authentication is enabled.



Optional - this option will allow you to opt-out from completing pairing straight away. You will be able to complete the pairing process as and when required, from Your account > Your profile.


Signing in with two-factor authentication


Once two-factor authentication has been turned on, next time you go to sign in to your site you will be asked to enter your sign in details as normal.



Once you click Sign in, you will then be asked to enter the code that displays in your authenticator app.
