If you use an email service other than Gmail (GSuite), you will need to enable email via SMTP/IMAP to allow incoming and outgoing email to be read by Senta.

Once you have enabled SMTP/IMAP email, you will be asked to input your email service settings. Depending on the service you are using, we recommend using the following settings:

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Office 365

Incoming mail server: outlook.office365.com

Incoming mail port: 993

Incoming mail secure: On

Outgoing mail server: smtp.office365.com

Outgoing mail port: 587

Outgoing mail secure: Off

Outgoing mail requires TLS: On

Incoming and outgoing mail user name

Your email address and password will have to be entered in both the Incoming and Outgoing mail user name and password fields.

When entering the details for your incoming and outgoing username and password, it is important to ensure correct spelling. Any white spaces and typos will prevent you from sending and receiving emails via Senta.

When you type in your email account password, please note that the password will not appear in the field and you will see several black dots instead:

The password field will display 14 black dots regardless of how long your password is.

If you are using Office 365 you do not need to set a 'Sent Items' folder, as this will be set automatically

This is the default setting for Office which does not need to be changed:

If you use 2-step verification for your Office 365 email account

If you have 2 step verification enabled on your account, you will need to generate an 'App Password' through your Microsoft account, and then enter that as the password in your Senta email settings (under Your Account > Your Profile > Email)

You can find out how to get an app password through your Microsoft account https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/user-help/multi-factor-authentication-end-user-app-passwordshere.

Gmail (GSuite)

We recommend you use the Gmail integration instead of the SMTP/IMAP integration. This can be found in Settings> General settings > Email. For further instruction on how to set up the Gmail (GSuite) integration, please take a look at this guide.

Gmail (personal)

If you are using a personal Gmail account, rather than GSuite, you will need to enable email via SMTP/IMAP to allow incoming and outgoing email to be ready by Senta.

Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com

Incoming mail port: 993

Incoming mail encrypted: On

Outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com

Outgoing mail port: 587

Outgoing mail secure: Off

Outgoing mail requires TLS: Off

Other Email service providers

Please refer to your service provider's recommended SMTP/IMAP settings. If you are unsure what these are, we recommend contacting them directly.

You may need to set a 'Sent items' folder to enable emails sent in Senta to be stored in your mail service sent items.
